Father Richard Sserugo, CSC
Father Richard Sserugo, CSC, is a priest of the Congregation of Holy Cross, Born in the Archdiocese of Kampala Uganda and ordained on the 1st of January 2019, whose heart and ministry are deeply devoted to families and to Our Blessed Mother.
Before coming to France, Father Richard served for five years as Director of Holy Cross Family Ministries in Tanzania. There, he accompanied families in rediscovering the beauty and strength of praying together—especially through the Rosary. He firmly believes that when families pray, they grow in unity, healing, and faith. Alongside this mission, he also served as an Associate Pastor at St. Brendan’s Parish Kitete in MBULU Diocese Tanzania walking closely with parish communities in their sacramental and spiritual lives.
Today, Father Richard serves as the National Director of Holy Cross Family Ministries France (Family Rosary France) He exercises pastoral ministry in the parish of Savigné-l’Évêque in the Diocese of Le Mans. His mission in France is to help renew the “domestic church,” encouraging parents to embrace their sacred role as the first teachers of faith for their children.
While carrying out his pastoral responsibilities, he continues his academic formation at the University of Le Mans, deepening his French language skills through studies in literature and writing. This formation supports his desire to communicate the Gospel effectively within the French cultural context.
Father Richard’s ministry is inspired by the call to the New Evangelization: helping families rediscover that their home is a place where Christ lives, where faith is transmitted, and where love is strengthened through prayer. Through Marian devotion and family prayer, he seeks to build communities of hope, unity, and joyful witness.
